TerrAscend Brings Joy to NJ Community
December 18, 2020

In the seven days leading up to Christmas, TerrAscend’s goal to spread holiday cheers to as many local charities as possible in an effort to support the people and community we serve.

Day 1

Established in 1898, The New Jersey Firemen’s Home is the only licensed healthcare facility in the State of New Jersey whose primary mission is dedicated to the men and women of the New Jersey Fire Service. Located on the historic Lathrop Estates in Boonton, NJ, the Firemen’s Home provides both long term care and residential healthcare services to these valued members of our community.

The team at Terrascend NJ wanted to do something special to show support and add cheer to their holiday season. We asked the Firemen’s Home how we could help, and they gave us the sweetest request—Treats, such as Twinkies, Ho-Hos, and Ding Dongs. The social director, Monika Story, is dedicated to cheering up her fireman as much as possible and is always looking for new ways to make them laugh. She saw these treats as a great way to remind the residents of their childhood and bring joy to those who have been especially lonely during this pandemic.

We at TerrAscend New Jersey look forward to working with this wonderful institution on many other events in the future.

Day 2

Rise & Shine International Ministry in Boonton NJ is hosting an angle-drive for the holidays, and our team wanted to show support by donating gifts for the local children. TerrAscend’s mission is to spread our holiday cheers to as many local charities as possible.

Rise & Shine is a non-profit organization that assists families in need in New Jersey. Pastora Dunia has been running this organization for six years, supporting our community, and we in turn support them.

Day 3

In partnership with the Ellen Maguire Foundation, TerrAscend has adopted a local Boonton family in need and purchased their groceries. We hope that our small act of kindness provides not only much-needed food and relief, but also a sense of community and fellowship. In the same way we nurture and care for our farm, we cannot forget to give back to our neighbors and provide them with hope for a better New Year.

Day 4

In an effort to be good neighbors we sought out the needs of surrounding towns. The town of Denville put out a call for gift cards for their toy drive and we at TerrAscend jumped at the opportunity to take part in this wonderful event. ‘Tis the season to ensure that children feel the joy of the holiday season and we wanted to make sure we did our part. We love bringing holiday cheer!

Day 5

‘Tis the season to show love to all of the creatures of the world. We at TerrAscend NJ love our furry companions and wanted to support the local animal shelter with supplies. No creature large or small should go without.

Day 6

For this holiday season, the team at TerrAcend NJ Cares put together a food drive for our local food pantry. We believe in helping our neighbors especially in these trying times. Giving back is what makes companies stronger and connected in their local communities.

Day 7

On day 7 of 7 Days of Christmas, TerrAscend New Jersey Cares we acknowledge our dedication to making our patients the number one priority. Attentiveness and empathy don’t cost anything but we invest our future in how we treat our patients. We try to give of ourselves daily to ensure that our love of what we do.
